Long lake Bird Nest Surveys

According to the federal Canadian Migratory Bird Convention Act and the British Columbia Widlife Act  all breeding  bird nests, eggs and young require protection.  Silverwood conducted migratory breeding bird nest surveys for this project, located by Stewart, BC.

Silverwoods key roles in this project included:
-The Silverwood crew conducted extensive breeding bird nest ground surveys along the transmission corridor during the 2013 bird breeding window.  May 15–Jul y 31.
-Determined nest activity and established protective buffers around active nests.
-Communicated nest locations to fallers and project personnel to maintain nest protection.
